Moki

set slippy / i’m nasty / i photograph nicely / i come to the PV / spritz Ropion spices London-based musician Moki talks in long-lost summers, sparkling retrofuturism, and those sweet, shining illusions of love and dreaming. With influences drawn from the genres of jazz, house, rap, Moki infuses Joni Mitchell /BeeGees type-melodies with more contemporary musical forces like Lauryn Hill, Frank Ocean, Azealia Banks, and Lana del Rey.

moon for short

moon for short is a non-binary artist based in Portsmouth, self-producing songs about living life to the fullest, loving the people around you, and trains. Their 2023 debut EP ‘mind the gap.’ explores themes of love, hardship, triumph, and again, trains. Taking influence from artists such as The Front Bottoms, The Wombats and Bears in Trees, moon for short writes with uplifting honesty and catchy hooks to boot. Their latest release, ‘cellphone (according to the meteors)’ reflects on the time we get to spend with the people we love, and how their kindness enables us to push ourselves further than we could ever make it on our own.
