After opening in 2016 out of a disused petrol station and fancy-dress shop, Hyde Park Book Club has expanded into a multi-purpose music & arts venue consisting of two venue spaces. Hot Vox are at the forefront of discovering and showcasing the very best emerging talent in the UK, ensuring that the freshest and most exciting new acts get the exposure they deserve. This special Leeds showcase picks the best acts in Leeds, bringing together an extraordinary lineup of local talent and incredible touring artists.

Mother Said

Mother Said is a Leeds-Based post-punk 5 piece, sporting two female lead singers. Taking inspiration from the original post-punk and new wave to create a blend of the absurd, political and dark. Infusing heavier classic punk lyricism with rock and roll undertones they create female riot with purpose. They formed in 2022 and have already played in numerous different cities, locals festivals and amassed an enthusiastic following. They were chosen as one of the ‘best of the year’ by BBC Introducing Leeds and Sheffield, frequently featuring on their channel for interviews, live performances and music debuts. Last October they won the Live At Leeds in the City artist submission competition and went on to play the festival. They have also played the Dark Arts festival in Leeds, Tarantino Festival in Hull, had their own headline gig in London and have supported many upcoming and successful bands in the scene.

Concrete Forest

Think: Sam Fender, Kings of Leon and Royal Blood birth an indie rock band of geeks and freaks, welcome to the stage Concrete Forest. The boys formed Concrete Forest at the RNCM in 2021, yet despite their diverse musical backgrounds they quickly bonded over their love of indie rock. This bond inspired them to develop their own sonic identity, made up of complex but captivating guitar riffs and anthemic drums blended with introspective, contemplative lyrics. Live, the group take the listener on a journey through experiences of intimacy, angst, and estrangement. With their powerful, energetic performance style, the group capitvates audiences across both their EP but also in any room.

Merging melodic pop riffs with metal breakdowns, ‘Patience’ are a 5 piece alt-rock band hailing from Leeds, UK. Taking influence from a wide variety of artists and sub-genres in the alt / emo scene, ’Patience’ craft explosive rock anthems with modern pop sensibility, embellished in powerful, harmonious vocals.

Night Crowd

Night Crowd is an indie rock band, combining dreamy guitar scapes, introspective tales, and ambient sonic textures to create jangle driven indie pop. Led by songwriter and composer Ro Yaxley, Night Crowd’s music seeks to echo the essence of past classics whilst embodying the now.
