Laid Off

After getting fired from their jobs, five best friends pursued their passion for music. They spent the summer of 2023 at Chale Abbey Studio, where artists like Michael Kiwanuka and Flyte have recorded, crafting a blend of lyrics and ideas with producer Sam Grade. Inspired by Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, and Sticky Fingers, they've created a unique sound that explores themes of youth, connection, and growth. Their music tells stories of wild nights, lost love, and life lessons. LAID OFF is set to release a five-track EP and will headline the Camden Assembly in August for their debut live performance.

HALCYON

HALCYON return after a 4-year break from the band, with an introspective look at how creating music has helped, hurt, and healed them during a tumultuous time in their early 20s. The short yet bittersweet trio of tracks on Mid Season Finale, thematically look at creativity in different lights as they manoeuvre through the band’s conflicted and exhausted feelings toward writing music. The EP makes light of the band’s constant battle against perfectionism and how it damaged their mental health and their relationship with music. The EP was written after a particular low point during the band’s lull, which, worsened by the pandemic, became a perfect storm for the group’s mental well-being.

Midnight Curfew

Midnight Curfew blends together a wide range of influences into a catchy pop-rock sound with an edge that can go from country to metal on a whim. The four-piece write and record all their songs together and work extremely hard to push themselves with every release. Often characterised by lively stage performances and inspired lyrics, Midnight Curfew are turning heads in their local Liverpool scene. The origins of the band stem from a chance meeting between singer-songwriter Rhys Evan and bass player Leonie Collins where they half jokingly agreed to start a band. Months later after meeting prolific metal drummer Joe Greenwood and songwriter/guitarist Monty Havers, Midnight Curfew was formed.
