Out of thousands of hopefuls, only a handful of standout solo artists and duos remain in the Future Icon Quarter-Finals, each competing for a career-changing prize package worth over £5,000.

The winner will receive £1,000 in cash, an industry-leading artist development package courtesy of Blinding Talent, and professional studio recording time at Darkwood Studios from Headliner.

Future Icon is built to give emerging talent the tools, support, and momentum they need to thrive, from funding to promotion to production.

LULA GOLD

Lula’s music attracts those who enjoy deep atmospheric alternative pop and funky RnB grooves. Creatively mixing complex layers of vocal and guitar harmonies with modulated synths and dark subs, is what embodies her catchy rhythms and melodies. From song writing since 8 years of age, Lula Gold has blossomed into a full-blown producer specialising in electronic music. With her single ‘Criminal Mind’ reaching over 76k streams and her recent release ‘Wrong Lane’ achieving an exciting number of press coverage including a publish from Earmilk, Lula is completely independent. She does everything herself, from the recording & production to the final mix.

Jenni Orlopp

Jenni Orlopp is an artist and producer based in Manchester, creating genre-blurring alt-pop shaped by atmospheric production and raw, introspective songwriting. Her music has garnered attention from industry tastemakers, with features in NE Volume, Densen Beren and The Alternative Fix, interviews with WIRED Magazine, and support from BBC Introducing, Youth Music and Help Musicians. In October 2024, Jenni released her debut EP All or Nothing. She returned in 2026 with her single “let me go”, described as “incredible” by Bread Records and a “confident return to alt-pop” by NE Volume Magazine.

Jo Jaleel

Jo Jaleel is an artist, songwriter and producer from Manchester/Wigan, blending groove-led pop, funk, R&B and hip-hop about the private worlds people carry through everyday life. Blending playful confidence with introspective writing, his music sits somewhere between the dancefloor, the night shift and the thoughts you don’t say out loud. His live set brings that world into the room with warmth, rhythm and off-centre honesty.

Taylor Paisley-French

Taylor Paisley-French is a Manchester-based singer-songwriter and pianist whose music blends soulful storytelling with powerful, piano-led melodies. Often described as Jamie Cullum meets Lewis Capaldi, with the rich vocal warmth of George Ezra, his songs combine heartfelt lyricism with memorable hooks and an unmistakably authentic sound

MP Riley

MP Riley is a Manchester-based artist, producer and songwriter originally from the North West coast of the UK. Over the past year, he’s amassed over 200,000 streams, expanded his audience and collaborated with artists and producers across the UK, Europe and North America. His 2026 releases blend nostalgic R&B, hip-hop, dance and soul influences, earning airplay on BBC Introducing and 1XTra. A self-taught musician and producer, Riley writes from personal experience while crafting a genre-blurring sound, with credits spanning production, mixing, songwriting and live performances in the UK and Europe.

Frankie Statham

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of the peak district, Frankie draws inspiration from the untamed beauty of nature and the thrill of adventure. Embracing the lineage of legends like bruce Springsteen and Carole king, Frankie carved his own distinctive sound in the world of songwriting with his debut EP, ‘ride on.’ the folk/rock project found a home on BBC radio, gracing shows like BBC introducing west Yorkshire, east midlands, and the esteemed Gayle Lofthouse show on BBC west Yorkshire. Despite only just emerging on the music scene, Frankie has shared stages with the likes of tom Clarke from the enemy at a sold out Brudenell showcase to supporting the globally acclaimed newton Faulkner.
